43rd Intramuros Grand Marian Procession

The historic streets of Intramuros came alive on Sunday, December 1, 2024, as the much-awaited Grand Marian Procession once again gathered thousands of devotees and spectators in celebration of faith and Marian devotion.

This year, 40 beautifully adorned carrozas carrying the images of the Blessed Virgin Mary, under her many revered titles, took center stage. Joining them were the images of St. Joseph and St. Andrew, adding to the grandeur of the event.

The National Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Mercy of Novaliches, home to the Miraculous and Pontifically crowned image of Our Lady of Mercy, was among those who participated, carrying their beloved Patroness as a radiant symbol of faith, devotion, and unity.

Organized by the Intramuros Administration and the Cofradia de la Inmaculada Concepcion, Inc., in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Grand Marian Procession remains one of the most anticipated religious and cultural traditions in the country.

Held every first Sunday of December, this annual procession honors the Immaculate Conception and reflects the enduring love and devotion of the Filipino people to the Blessed Mother.

As the streets of Intramuros echoed with prayers, hymns, and the rhythmic sounds of marching bands, the event stood as a remarkable testament to faith, heritage, and the unifying love of Ina ng Awa, Our Lady of Mercy, and the Blessed Virgin Mary under her many revered titles.
