Saturday Devotion to Our Lady Of Mercy
Every Saturday at 3:00 PM, the faithful gather at the National Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Mercy in Novaliches for a sacred and deeply personal devotion to Ina ng Awa—Our Lady of Mercy. This weekly tradition is more than a prayer; it is an encounter of the heart, a refuge for the weary, and a source of strength for those in need of hope and healing.
Led by the Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de la Merced de Novaliches and Sr. Maria Paula Advincula, MS, this devotion continues to grow as countless souls discover the comfort, intercession, and spiritual embrace of Ina ng Awa.
What Happens Every Saturday
3:00 PM – Novena Prayer
The devotion begins with the Novena to Our Lady of Mercy, prayed as a community. As voices rise in unity, personal intentions are lifted up to heaven, trusting in the powerful intercession of our Blessed Mother.
Spiritual Reflection
After the novena, Sr. Maria Paula Advincula, MS offers a short, soul-nourishing reflection. Her words of encouragement and teaching gently remind us of God’s love and the compassion of Ina ng Awa.
Pagmamanto
One of the most intimate and moving parts of the Saturday devotion is the Pagmamanto:
- Devotees are invited to kneel before the image of Our Lady of Mercy.
- A member of the Cofradía gently places Ina’s sacred cape (manto) over your shoulders.
- As you pray silently, the Cofradía member prays with you—interceding as you bring your deepest needs and heartfelt petitions to Our Lady.
This moment of Pagmamanto is your time to be spiritually embraced by Ina ng Awa. It is a sacred opportunity to ask for her help, comfort, and healing.
4:00 PM – Holy Mass in Honor of Our Lady of Mercy
The devotion concludes with a special Eucharistic celebration—a Holy Mass offered to Ina ng Awa, where we come together in thanksgiving and renewed faith.
How to Join the Devotion
To become part of this beautiful devotion:
- Visit the Shrine any Saturday at 3:00 PM.
- Look for Sister Paula or any member of the Cofradía.
- You will be given a 12-Saturday Devotion Form, which serves as a record of your spiritual journey.
Each Saturday you attend, Sister Paula will sign your form. After completing 12 consecutive Saturdays, you will be commissioned as an official member of the Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de la Merced de Novaliches—formally joining a growing family of devoted servants of Ina ng Awa.
