Solemn Declaration as a National Shrine
A historic milestone for the Diocese of Novaliches took place on September 15, 2024, as the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Mercy was solemnly declared a National Shrine, the first in the diocese’s history.
The declaration was led by Jose Cardinal Advincula, D.D., with the presence of bishops, priests, and the faithful from across the country. This significant event coincided with the celebration of the 168th Feast Day of Our Lady of Mercy, making it a truly memorable occasion for the parish and the entire community.
With this recognition from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), the Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy now stands as an official center for Marian devotion and pilgrimage — a symbol of faith, unity, and the enduring love of Ina ng Awa, Our Lady of Mercy.
